In brief: Private sector less optimistic than SHCP on Mexico growth

* Carlos Salazar, the president of Mexico’s main business lobby Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE), has said that the CCE is forecasting that Mexico’s GDP will grow between 3% and 4% in 2021 after contracting 9% in 2020. Salazar made his comments in a press conference. The CCE’s forecasts are in contrast to the 8% GDP contraction forecast for 2020 by the federal finance ministry (SHCP), which is expecting growth of 4.6% in 2021.
