In brief: Brazil’s November 2020 economic activity is positive

* Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the November 2020 figures for its monthly index of economic activity (IBC-Br), a preview of GDP growth, which show economic activity expanded 0.59% compared with October, and contracted 0.89% year-on-year. In the 11 months to November 2020, the IBC-Br has accumulated a variation of -4.63%. According to the BCB’s last Focus bulletin of 2020, a weekly survey of economists, Brazil’s GDP is forecast to contract 4.36% in 2020.
