In brief: Mexico’s inflation inches up

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show Mexico’s monthly inflation rate in February was 0.63%, bringing the annual rate to 3.76%. This is slightly up from the 0.42% monthly rate and 3.70% annual rate registered in February 2020. Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) expects inflation to close the year at 3.6%, up from its previous forecast of 3.3%. This is within its target range of 3% (with a tolerance range of 1 percentage point above or below).
