In brief: Honduras and BCIE sign new loan to improve potable water supply

* The Central American development bank (BCIE) has signed a US$36m loan with the Honduran government to finance the expansion of the drinking water supply system in Gracias city, Lempira department, which is expected to benefit over 76,000 people. The project includes the development of hydraulic infrastructure to increase the quality and quantity of water in the city's water supply system, which currently has an average interruption period of 168 hours per year, which will be reduced to zero hours.
