Latin American Regional Report: Brazil & Southern Cone looks into the report’s main points, such as the regional disparity of homicide rates in Brazil, high levels of police violence, and how the uptick in homicides can be linked to policies pursued by President Jair Bolsonaro’s government. A second Brazil-focused piece turns to the South American giant’s economy; rising inflation is contributing to an unequal economic recovery and pushing the central bank to adopt monetary tightening measures.
