In brief: Brazil’s Embraer signs new supply deal

* Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer has signed a deal with US private aviation firm NetJets to deliver 100 new aircraft from Embraer’s Phenom 300 executive light jet series. Embraer and NetJets first signed a purchase agreement for 50 Phenom 300 aircraft in 2010, and since then the Brazilian manufacturer has delivered over 100 jets to the US company. The US$1.2bn deal plans for the delivery of up to 100 Phenom 300E aircraft from the second quarter of 2023. “We are pleased to have signed this significant deal with NetJets, as our strategic partnership has been an integral part of Embraer’s success for over a decade”, Michael Amalfitano, president and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, said. Embraer closed 2020 in the red due to the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the falling through of a deal with Boeing of the US; but the company recorded its first quarterly profit in two years in Q2 this year.
