* Brazil’s infrastructure minister, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, has spoken to ambassadors from the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries to present what the Brazilian government describes as “the biggest and most sophisticated programme of infrastructure and transport concessions”. The event with OECD representatives in Paris, France, was part of a roadshow which began on 7 November and will also take Gomes de Freitas to Milan in Italy, Madrid in Spain, and Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to present the Brazilian government’s portfolio of infrastructure concessions to global operators and sovereign investment funds. Between October and December, the infrastructure ministry is holding a series of auctions for roads and ports dubbed ‘SuperInfra’ through which it hopes to attract R$23.5bn (US$4.29bn) in private investment to the transport sector.
