In brief: Bolivia announces funds for hydrocarbon projects

* Bolivia’s Hydrocarbons & Energy Minister Franklin Molina has announced that the government will invest US$400m in hydrocarbon exploration and extraction projects in 2022, as part of its ‘Upstream Reactivation Plan 2021-2025’. The plan aims to deliver US$1.5bn in investment to the hydrocarbon sector over that period. Molina said that the funds will enable the tapping of new natural reserves, increasing production for the domestic market and for export.
