* Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released new figures which show that in the first half of 2021, the poverty rate in Uruguay fell to 10.2% of the population, down from 11.6% in 2020. The same figures show that 0.2% of the population were living in extreme poverty in the first half of 2021.
