In brief: Brazilian vehicle production picks up in July

* Brazil’s national association of vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea) has announced that vehicle production increased in July, when 218,950 vehicles were manufactured – up 7.5% on the previous month and up 33.4% year-on-year. Production in July was at its highest level since November 2020. Despite this increase, Brazilian vehicle production has been sluggish in the first seven months of 2022; 1.1m vehicles were manufactured between January and July, down 12% on the same period last year. Anfavea noted that 41,900 vehicles were exported in July, down 11.4% on June, and attributed the decrease to the economic situation in Argentina.
