In brief: GDP up in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has announced that the country’s GDP rose by 12.6% in the second quarter of 2022, compared with the same quarter in 2021. In comparison with the immediately preceding quarter, GDP in Q2 2022 was up 1.5%. The GDP increase was driven by rising output in three category groupings: trade, vehicle maintenance, storage, accommodation, and food services (up 23.3% year-on-year); manufacturing (up 20.3%); and public administration, defence, social security plans, education, healthcare and social services (up 9.0%).
