New refinery unlikely to satisfy national fuel demands
Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador inaugurated the Dos Bocas oil refinery - now formally called Olmeca – in Tabasco state on 1 July, supposedly marking the completion of another of his administration’s flagship infrastructure projects. However, although the refinery was inaugurated within the promised timeframe, it is not yet fully finished, and no concrete date has been given for when it may become operational.
