MEXICO | Gov’t hails success of anti-inflation plan. On 2 August, Mexico’s finance minister, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, announced that the government’s anti-inflation plan had reduced inflation by 2.6 percentage points. According to this, annual inflation would have stood at 10.76% in the first two weeks of July, rather than 8.16%, without the package against inflation and high prices (Pacic), which was implemented in May.
