In brief: Experts raise Argentina’s inflation forecast
* Experts consulted by Argentina’s central bank (BCRA) have forecast that inflation in Argentina will close 2022 at 95%, up 4.8 percentage points on their forecast the previous month. The experts also expect that inflation will close 2023 at 84.1%, up 7.6 percentage points on the previous month’s forecast and at 63.1% in 2024, up 3.1 percentage points on the previous forecast. Argentina’s inflation was running at 71% in annual terms in July. The report forecast monthly inflation of 6.5% in August. The experts also revised up their forecast for 2022 GDP growth to 3.6%, up 0.2 percentage points on their forecast last month.
