HAITI: Marking a grim anniversary

Haiti recently commemorated the first anniversary of the brutal murder of former president Jovenel Moïse (2017-2021) [SSR-21-08]. One year on, there is little progress regarding the investigation into his death. Meanwhile the security crisis has significantly deteriorated under the caretaker government led by Prime Minister Ariel Henry as gangs exploit the power vacuum, and there is little sign of the elections which are widely viewed as a way out of the multi-faceted crisis afflicting the country.
