UN report outlines ‘crimes against humanity’ propping up Maduro

A damning United Nations report accused Venezuela’s security forces this week of systematically engaging in “crimes against humanity” in order to crush opposition to the Bolivarian government led by President Nicolás Maduro. The report, which claims that Maduro himself has often directly ordered the arrest or torture of political dissidents, will further complicate efforts from friendly governments in the region to bring him out of diplomatic isolation.
