Mixed picture on coca and cocaine production

The US White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) released its annual estimates of coca and cocaine production in Colombia, Peru and Bolivia on 14 July. The report revealed progress in eradication efforts in Colombia and Peru, and slight backsliding in Bolivia. The ONDCP figures came two weeks after the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) released its own annual report on 27 June, which outlined longer-term trends in cocaine production.
