In brief: Panama’s inflation slows

* Panama’s national statistics institute (INEC) has released new figures which show that inflation was running at 2.1% in August in annual terms. This is down from 3.5% in July and 5.2% in June – levels which are high for Panama, which has historically had low inflation due to its dollarised economy. In monthly terms, the August IPC was down 1.4% on July.
