In brief: Mexico’s economic activity ticks up

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for its monthly global indicator of economic activity (IGAE) which show economic activity increased by 0.4% in July 2022, compared to the previous month. In seasonally-adjusted monthly terms, activities in the primary sector (agriculture) grew by 0.8% and by 0.4% in both the secondary (industry) and tertiary (services) sectors. In seasonally-adjusted year-on-year terms, economic activity increased by 2.2%, with activities in the secondary sector growing by 3.5% and by 1.7% in the tertiary sector. However, activities in the primary sector fell by 2.7%.
