In brief: Mexico’s López Obrador complains about tax delays by large firms

*Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has said that the head of Mexico’s tax authority (SAT), Raquel Buenrostro and Antonio Martínez, the general administrator for large taxpayers, had given him a list of 20-30 national and foreign companies that are behind in their payments. López Obrador estimated that the companies owe the treasury around M$100bn (US$5bn). López Obrador explained that in some cases it is because audits had not been completed and they had not been notified, while “there are others who do not accept the new reality”.
