* Argentina’s economy minister, Sergio Massa, has confirmed that the government led by President Alberto Fernández is in negotiations with the Paris Club of creditors regarding a restructuring of the country’s debt. Massa said that the government is seeking loan extensions, and is also discussing interest rates and methods of “softening” upcoming payments. This follows an agreement reached in May with the Paris Club, under which a repayment of US$2bn in Argentine debt was deferred until September 2024.
