ECUADOR: Prison system hit by multiple massacres
On 6 October, Ecuador’s prisons authority (SNAI) announced that the number of inmates killed in a massacre the previous day at the Penitenciaría del Litoral prison in Guayaquil (Guayas province) had risen to 16, in the second massacre to hit the prison system in three days.
