In brief: Oil production falls in Venezuela
* The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has published its latest monthly oil market report, in which Venezuela claimed to have produced 666,000 barrels per day (bpd) in September. This marked a reduction of 57,000 bpd on Venezuela’s reported figures for August. OPEC’s other estimate, based on secondary sources, put Venezuela’s oil production in July at 659,000 bpd, down by 19,000 bpd on the estimate for August.
