*Brazil’s Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (ANP), the federal oil and gas regulator, has announced that the country’s production of oil and natural gas has reached 3.967m barrels per day (bpd) in August, up 3.9% compared with July. This is the highest monthly production of oil and gas recorded since January 2020 in Brazil. In August, Brazil produced 3.087m bpd of oil, up 4.2% compared with July. The country’s production of natural gas reached 139.96m cubic metres per day, up 3.2% on July. According to ANP, 74.8% of Brazil’s oil and gas production came from the deep-water ‘pre-salt’ reserves.
