In brief: Mexico’s central bank raises growth forecast

* In its latest quarterly report (July-September), Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has raised its growth forecast to 3.0% in 2022 and 1.8% in 2023, up from 2.2% and 1.6% respectively as per its previous forecast. Banxico said in its report that the revision for 2022 corresponded mainly to the dynamism shown by the national economy throughout the year, which was evident in higher-than-expected growth in the third quarter. This stood at 0.9% compared to the previous three-month period, and at 4.3% year-on-year.
