In brief: Industrial production recovers in Brazil

* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has announced that industrial production increased by 0.3% in October, compared to the previous month. This followed two months of falling production in August and September. In year-on-year terms, industrial production was up 1.7% on October 2021. Ibge stated that the monthly increase in October was primarily due to rising production of food products (+4.8%) and metals (+4.6%). However, Ibge also highlighted falling production of vehicles (-6.7%), machinery (-9.1%) and drinks (-9.3%).
