* The board of Brazilian electricity company Eletrobras,
which was privatised in June this year, has announced that it will propose to shareholders the incorporations of shares of its subsidiaries – Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Franscisco (CHESF), Companhia de Geração e Transmissão de Energia Elétrica do Sul do Brasil (CGT Eletrosul), Furnas – Centrais Elétricas (Furnas), and Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil (Eletronorte). In a statement, the board said that the incorporation would “
unlock highly relevant value levers regarding the management and organisation of these subsidiaries, which will ultimately be reflected in the expected future growth and profitability of Eletrobras itself”.
