Costa Rica clamps down on migrants

While Costa Rica is a top immigrant destination country within Latin America, President Rodrigo Chaves recently announced major changes to immigration and asylum policy in the form of two decrees. This will particularly affect Nicaraguans, who represent a significant number of asylum seekers, having been forced to flee due to the ongoing crackdown in the country by the government led by President Daniel Ortega.
