In brief: Nicaragua’s exports up in 2022

*Nicaragua’s exports (not including free zone exports) totalled US$3.94bn in 2022, up 9.77% on the US$3.59bn exported in 2021 according to new figures from the Nicaraguan association of producers and exporters (Apen), a local export promotion lobby. According to Apen’s figures, Nicaragua’s main export is gold which totalled US$935.86m, up from US$880.5m in 2021, followed by coffee (US$711.0m, up from US$513.8m), and beef (US$685.0m down from US$735.1m).
