Latin American Regional Report: Mexico begins by looking at Title 42 – the controversial measure that allows US authorities to rapidly expel migrants of certain nationalities to Mexico. The US supreme court blocked a ruling to lift the measure on 19 December, days before it was set to expire. It is now expected to remain in place until at least June while the legal dispute plays out. Additionally, its usage will be extended to migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua and Haiti, significantly expanding its application.
