In brief: Brazil’s Embraer sees yearly rise in Q1 deliveries

 * The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has announced that it delivered 15 aircraft in the first quarter of 2023 – seven commercial airplanes and eight executive jets. This marks a 7% increase in delivery volume compared to Q1 2022, and the value for completed deliveries until 31 March this year came to US$17.4bn. However, deliveries were down significantly compared to Q4 2022, when Embraer delivered 80 aircraft. In addition to commercial airplanes, the Brazilian manufacturer is planning to increase its production of military aircraft. The Philippine Air Force has ordered more components to service its stock of Embraer’s A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft, which had been delivered in 2020, and it has been recently confirmed that Embraer will manufacture a new range of Super Tucano aircraft configured to the requirements of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). On 24 April, during his state visit to Portugal, Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva visited a factory run by OGMA, Embraer’s Portuguese partner with which it will produce the new Super Tucano jets.
