BRAZIL: Gov’t condemns killing of lawmakers’ relative
On 5 October Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his condemnation on social media of the killing of three doctors in Rio de Janeiro earlier that day. One of the victims, Diego Ralf Bomfim, was the brother and brother-in-law of federal deputies Sâmia Bomfim and Glauber Braga, both affiliated with the Partido Socialismo e Liberdade (PSOL), a left-wing ally of Lula’s ruling Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT).
