* Brazil’s state-controlled oil company Petrobras has released its production figures for the third quarter of 2023, registering 3.98m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) of oil and gas. This marks a 7.8% increase from oil and gas production in Q2 2023. The strong third quarter result was mainly driven by production in September which hit a monthly record of 4.1m boepd, up 6.8% from August. In a press release, the oil giant attributed the rise in production to the performance of the processing units ‘Almirante Barroso’ and ‘P-71’, both in the ‘Bacia de Santos’ offshore oil field near the coast of São Paulo state, and to the ‘Anna Nery’ and ‘Anita Garibaldi’ units, which operate in the ‘Bacia de Campos’ oil field near the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
