* Economic analysts surveyed by Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) have maintained their 2023 GDP growth forecast for Mexico at 3.40%, the same as forecast in a previous (November) survey. The analysts raised the 2024 growth forecast from 2.10% to 2.29%. The same survey also showed a slight drop in inflation forecasts for this year, with analysts predicting that inflation would end the year at 4.44% (down from 4.54%) and core inflation would stand at 5.10% (down from 5.16%). This comes after Banxico raised its own GDP growth forecast in its quarterly report for the third quarter of the year, predicting GDP to grow by 3.3% in 2023, up from a previous forecast of 3%.
