In brief: Shell inaugurates new oil and gas plant in Argentina

* Shell Argentina, a subsidiary of Anglo-Dutch multinational Royal Dutch Shell, has opened its second oil and gas processing plant in Argentina’s 'Vaca Muerta' shale oil and gas fields, in the Sierras Blancas area of Neuquén province. The new facility, which is described as a Central Processing Facility (CPF), triples Shell Argentina’s production capacity to 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) and will employ around 400 people. Costing US$80m, Shell Argentina highlights that the new plant is in line with Shell’s long term development goals announced in 2018; over the next few years Shell aims to drill 30 new wells annually to supply the new plant.
