VENEZUELA/REGION: Economic benefits of the migrant crisis

Migrants in Latin America, and in particular the exodus of nearly 8m Venezuelans from their home country, have brought host countries more economic benefit than harm. That is the conclusion of two studies carried out separately by international organisations, one by the World Bank and the other by the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
