Milei deepens Israel ties, cools tensions with Pope
Argentina’s President Javier Milei, who had pledged during the election campaign to boost ties with Israel, travelled to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem from 6-8 February and met Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The second leg of Milei’s trip was to Italy and the Vatican, where he met Pope Francis on 12 February, whom Milei had frequently insulted on the campaign trail.
