The country is suffering from two major economic problems. One is the rising inflation: the annual inflation rate is now in double digits. The other problem is that the rate of growth is weakening: it was down to 2.97% for the first half of the year, according to estimates from the Centro de Estudios para el Desarrollo Laboral y Agrario.
