PERU-VENEZUELA: Relations back on track

Diplomatic relations between Peru and Venezuela appear to be on the mend despite two developments that might have been expected to provoke a rift. Firstly Peru decided to drop what looked like becoming an acrimonious dispute with Venezuela over the recent opening of an office of the Alternativa Bolivariana para las Américas (Alba) in the southern region of Puno.
