String of Alba offices in Peru seen as new 'interference' by Chávez

Venezuela's president Hugo Chávez is once again being accused of interfering in Peru's internal affairs, this time for establishing an Alternativa Bolivariana para las Américas (Alba) office in Peru . Alba, Chavez's brain-child, consists of 'soft diplomacy' initiatives which are billed as an alternative to the US-sponsored (but stillborn) Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). In the last week it was revealed that there are actually already six Alba offices operating in Peru, and five more are expected to open soon.
