REGION: IMF keeps up pressure on fiscal policies

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has been busy in the Caribbean during the past month, issuing progress statements on the Bahamas, Belize, Dominica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, and St Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG). The almost universal message is one of stuttering recovery and the (unhelpful for growth) need for fiscal consolidation.
