Funes takes a walk on the wild side

Development: On 24 January El Salvador’s ruling left-wing Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN) came out against President Mauricio Funes’s appointment of a general, Francisco Ramón Salinas Rivera, to head up the national police (PNC) on the grounds that it violates both the constitution and the 1992 peace accords that ended the 12-year civil war.
