ARGENTINA | GDP growth. Argentina’s GDP grew by 8.8% year-on-year in 2011, maintaining the average of almost 9% annual growth since 2003, the national statistics institute (Indec) reported. Economic activity is showing clear signs of slowing down amid global uncertainty, however, Indec claimed, as GDP growth in December was just 5.5%. GDP growth was just 0.9% in 2009 as a result of the international financial crisis and economic slowdown.
