Mexico showcases its leadership skills at the G-20

The VII G-20 summit held in mid June in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, may have not provided definitive solutions to the global economic crisis. Yet the first such summit ever to be hosted by a Latin American country was widely deemed a success after the world’s 20 most powerful economies managed to agree on steps forward. Arguably the most important outcome was Mexico’s brokering of a broad consensus among the G-20 emerging economies for the largest capitalisation ever of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
