Civil rights demands get Chinchilla’s backing

“We are not asking for a same sex marriage law, we ask to be able to manage our assets together, or to be able to apply for a loan together, like any couple. We ask to be able to go into a hospital and take the body of our partner in the case of death”. That is how Bernal Esquivel, one of the organiser’s of Costa Rica’s Gay Pride parade, described the current legal battle being fought by gay, lesbian, transgender and diversity groups in the country.
