For those who support the virtual president-elect, Enrique Peña Nieto of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), those who question his purported victory simply do not want to recognise the will expressed by the Mexican electorate at the polls. Conversely, those who question Peña Nieto’s victory, like the second-placed candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Amlo) of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD)-led Movimiento Progresista, say his supporters simply don’t want to see that irregularities, including fraud and illicit campaign financing, were widespread.
