There wasn’t one rotten apple in former President Alvaro Uribe (2002-2010)’s security team; the whole fruit basket appears to have been rotten. This week retired police (PNC) General Mauricio Santoyo, the highest ranking Colombian official ever to be extradited to the US to face criminal charges, changed his not guilty plea before the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (Alexandria Division). As Santoyo prepares to come clean, numerous members of the previous and current administrations are preparing to defend themselves from the possible accusations Santoyo might make.
