Bolivian mining dispute turns deadly

Development: On 18 September the minister of the presidency, Juan Ramón Quintana, called for a 48-hour truce after one miner died and nine others were injured during clashes in La Paz between two groups of miners - salaried workers and those belonging to cooperatives - over the development of the small tin/zinc Colquiri mine.
