COLOMBIA-NICARAGUA: Ortega’s assurances in perspective

In contrast to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos’s tough talk about rejecting the World Court (ICJ) ruling that handed over to Nicaragua a huge expanse of the Caribbean hitherto in Colombian hands, Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega has been trying hard to sound conciliatory and attract international support for his country’s maritime gains. But what are his assurances worth?
