CHILE-BRAZIL | CMPC looks to become global player. On 6 December Chile’s largest paper and pulp producer, Compañia Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones (CMPC), announced that it would be investing US$2.1bn in the expansion of its ‘Guaíba Línea I’ pulp processing plant in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in a bid to become the world’s second largest paper pulp producer.
